The district is excited to announce the launch of the “Weakley County Schools Growing Our Future” podcast. This addition, in partnership with Forever Communications, is the latest platform where the stories and successes of the schools come to life.
“Podcasts have become such a powerful way for people to connect with information, and we wanted to create something that captures the spirit of what we’re doing in our schools,” said Director of Schools Jeff Cupples. “We think it’s a great way to provide a more in-depth picture of local education for our community through unique voices and diverse perspectives.”
The podcast is designed to delve into the heart of public education within the community, offering listeners an in-depth look into the experiences and milestones in local schools. Covering a broad range of topics, episodes will feature a variety of guests to include teachers, faculty and staff, local stakeholders, business leaders, and public education experts. From academic achievements to student experiences, school events, and community partnerships, the podcast will discuss everything from policies and legislation to CTE programming, career pathways for students, and the latest trends in curriculum and instruction.
The podcast represents an added way to engage with the community, according to Communications Director and podcast host Erica Moore.
“Social media is a terrific way to get quick, high-level highlights of what’s happening in our schools—but there’s so much more to share in every story,” Moore said. “With this podcast, we’re able to go deeper and explore the stories behind the headlines. It’s another way to connect with our community on a more personal level, providing context and insight not typically found in a Facebook or Instagram post.”
The first episode of the podcast is already available. Find the “Weakley County Schools Growing Our Future” podcast on-demand today on Spotify, Weakley County Schools’ Youtube channel, or on the Weakley County Schools website at weakleycountyschools.com/news/podcast. New episodes will be released monthly or bi-monthly throughout the school year.
Director Cupples believes that the podcast’s objective aligns with the district's core values by inspiring purposeful learning, cultivating meaningful connections, and nurturing personal growth.
“Our goal is to provide a platform where we can discuss the topics that matter most to our students, parents, and the broader community,” Cupples said. “It’s our intention with this podcast for the community to feel like a part of the conversation about our schools from early reading intervention all the way to the path to graduation and career discovery. It’s another valuable resource for anyone invested in the future of public education in Weakley County.”
